Panthers Dominate Golden Grizzlies

DU scores a season high in 13-3 win over Oakland

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The one-sided hockey game on Friday belonged to the Panthers as they dominated Oakland 13-3 at Patterson Ice Center. The GLCHL conference game kicked off the 2024 campaign for the Panthers who have now won three straight and are 15-7 overall. Davenport finished with a season-high 13 goals including three on the power play and one short-handed. Peter Stojcevski recorded a hat trick with two power play goals in the second period and another in the third period. He also finished with two assists for a season-high five points.

10 different Panthers scored in this one as Robert McLaughlin had a pair of goals. He scored his 10th of the season in the second period and added his 11th on the power play in the third period. The even scoring saw four goals in the first period, five more in the second period, and finally four more in the third period. Davenport recorded 57 shots on goal including 24 in the second period. Nathan Gauthier played 40 minutes in net and made 19 saves. Kyler Lowden played 20 minutes in net and stopped all six shots he faced.

Davenport will now face UM-Dearborn in a pair of games on Jan. 11 in Dearborn (7:00 PM) and Jan. 12 in Grand Rapids (8:35 PM). UM-Dearborn is currently ranked No. 19 in ACHA Division I.
