TIFFIN, Ohio - The Davenport women's basketball team could not hold on in the fourth quarter on Sunday afternoon in a 64-55 defeat at Tiffin. They managed to take a 42-40 lead heading into the final quarter and the Dragons scored the first six points and did not give up the lead the rest of the way. Tiffin shot 13-of-14 at the free throw line in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory. Davenport did shoot 50 percent from the floor in the final 10 minutes but just had two free throw attempts and missed them both.
Lillee Gustafson had a season-high 14 rebounds including nine offensive boards. She finished with six points, four assists, and three blocked shots.
Isabel Lindo led the team with 12 points and also had two steals.
Jada McCree came off the bench to go 3-for-3 behind the arc in nine-plus minutes.
Ellie Toney added eight points off the bench in 25-plus minutes. The Panthers finished the game going 18-for-59 (30.5 percent) from the floor including 8-for-28 behind the arc. Bree Allen led the Dragons with 18 points off the bench going 5-for-10 from the field and 6-for-6 at the free throw line.
The Panthers (0-4) will next be in action on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Malone (4-0). They have a mid-week game on Wednesday against Fairmont State before playing the Panthers in Canton, Ohio.
