DU finishes season series undefeated against GVSU to tab another program milestone

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Davenport University women's soccer (7-3-7, 5-2-6 GLIAC) closed the season series with a 1-0-1 record over Grand Valley State University after a scoreless result against the No. 17-ranked Lakers on Nov. 3.

Playing as the road team in the contest, the draw officially marked the first-ever regular season series where the Panthers finished undefeated against the crosstown opponent. DU was limited to just five shot attempts in the match, with one attempt on target made by Izabelle Olsson. However, DU proved it was up to facing a challenging opponent in a hostile environment.

Although the offensive attack couldn't produce a goal, the Panther defense has been a major factor throughout 2024. Elizabeth Wolter produced her sixth consecutive shutout (10 overall) after making five key saves against the Lakers, all made in the first 45 minutes of action. DU held GVSU to just three shots in the second half as the Panthers' four attempts in the latter 45 highlighted a concerted offense.

DU travels to Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, Nov. 9, to potentially secure a favorable seed in the postseason tournament in the Panthers' final regular-season contest.
