Lindo scores a season-high 17 points in 71-60 loss at Purdue Northwest

The freshman from Haslett went 7-of-11 from the floor

HAMMOND, Ind. - Freshman Isabel Lindo scored a season-high 17 points in Thursday night's 71-60 road loss at Purdue Northwest. The Haslett High School graduate went 7-of-11 from the floor including a pair of triples. Lindo scored nine points in the first half including seven points in the second quarter. Lindo also had two rebounds, one steal, and one blocked shot in 34 minutes.

Purdue Northwest held the lead for 34:38 of game action and the game had one lead change and one tie. The Panthers scored the first five points on a Nevaeh Galloway bucket and Alexa Kolnitys three-pointer. The Pride took an 8-7 lead at the 4:49 mark of the first quarter and never trailed again building their lead to 17-11 at the end of the first quarter.

Mercedes Simmons in the second quarter scored with 1:11 until halftime which gave the Pride their largest lead of the game at 39-23. Lindo hit a three-pointer with 38 seconds left in the quarter for a 39-26 deficit at the break.

The game remained a double-digit lead for Purdue Northwest in the entire third quarter as they led 53-42 into the fourth quarter. The Panthers got within eight at 55-47 with 9:17 remaining the game after a Mary Liedel three-point bucket. The Pride would extend their lead back up to 68-52 with 3:14 to play and pull out the win.

Lillee Gustafson finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, and tied a career high with five assists. Gustafson shot 6-of-12 from the floor and also had a pair of steals. Liedel reached double figures in scoring for the first time in the last 10 games with 12 points off the bench in 22 minutes. She went 2-of-3 behind the arc and 4-of-5 at the free throw line. Liedel also grabbed five rebounds and had one assist.

The Panthers will conclude a four-game road trip on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Parkside. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM ET tip in Kenosha, Wis.
