GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's tennis narrowly missed out on getting back into the win column with a 4-3 setback in their final non-conference match of the season. The Panthers are now 10-10 overall while Southwest Baptist improved to 4-9 and snapped a five-match losing streak.
The Panthers took the doubles point by winning the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
Jan Stolin and
Subash Paramasivam won 6-3 against Youssef Nabil and Ilyes Khelifi in the first matchup and then it was
Carlos Henriquez and
Simone Pacciolla upending Alejandro Bravo Diaz and Pedro Pinto 7-6 (7-4).
Stolin made it a double at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Nabil. Pacciolla at No. 6 singles also got a win over Bravo Diaz by scores of 6-1, 6-3.
The Panthers are back to GLIAC play on Saturday as they welcome Purdue Northwest for a 1:00 PM first serve again at GR Racquet Club.
