TIFFIN, Ohio - Defeating a nationally-ranked opponent on its home pitch during the regular season for the first time as a GLIAC member, Davenport University men's soccer upset No. 11 Tiffin University in a historic 2-1 victory.

Easton Lopez and Cam Power came in clutch for DU as Lopez netted his fourth goal through four matches and continues to make history as a true freshman. The Panthers' delivery of an upset was backed by 11 shots (six on frame) and seven saves, highlighting the aggression shown from start to finish.

Minutes into the match, a costly foul by the Panthers gave Tiffin a free-kick near the box. Zachary Garcia bent a cross over DU's wall of defenders as Freddie Oliver took advantage and sunk the Dragon's first and only score of the match.

Facing a one-goal deficit at halftime, DU showed poise to make the best out of a trivial situation. Seven-and-a-half minutes into the second, the Dragons' aggression inside their box would cost them as a foul gave Cam Power a penalty kick chance. The junior midfielder didn't hesitate to rocket a strike into the right of the goal, leveling the match at 1-1. 

Although Tiffin ramped up the offensive attack, Beau Hudd was a juggernaut on defense and made three saves to keep DU alive ahead of the 78th minute. With a chance to record his second game-winning goal this season, Easton Lopez lined up a strike just a few yards outside the box to tally the Panthers' second goal of the match, 2-1.

Walking away with a victory, DU improved to 2-1-1 overall and secured its first top-25 win since 2022.
