WASHINGTON TWP., Mich. - The Davenport women's golf team finished fourth out of nine schools at the Warrior Invitational hosted by Wayne State. It was the second fall tournament for the Panthers who shot 632 and improved eight strokes in the second and final round (320-312). Despite that lower second-day total, Ohio Dominican shot a 301 after an opening-round 322 and vaulted into second place. Wayne State won the tournament at 613 followed by ODU and then Saginaw Valley State (625) and Davenport.
Sophomore
Hannah Robinson recorded her second career top-10 finish and first this season in a two-way tie for ninth place. She shot 75 on Monday and followed that with an 81 on Tuesday. Robinson did record a birdie on the par-3, 12th hole on Monday and Tuesday, while also birdieing the par-4, 1st hole and par-4, 18th hole on Tuesday. Freshman
Venetia Chap tied for 16th place and moved up 13 spots in the final round (84-75). She had a remarkable back nine on Monday with a two-under par 34. She birdied three holes in a five-hole stretch. She had a more steady round on Tuesday going 38-37 with a total of three birdies.
Junior
Lauren Gervais tied for 24th place with a total of 164 (86-78). Junior
Melissa Walker tied for 26th place with a total of 165 (87-78).
