* DU will begin their ninth season of football (eighth full season due to COVID in 2020) on Saturday, Sept. 7 with their first trip to Crestview Hills, Ky.
* The game will be live on the Great Midwest Conference Network and free to view, while also being broadcast on 96.1 The Game in Grand Rapids. This is the second year that Davenport has partnered with the iHeart Media radio station.
* Season tickets are on sale now for the team's four home games in 2024. Included in this year's matchups are preseason top-5 teams in Central Missouri (Sept. 21) and Grand Valley State (Oct. 5) followed by the homecoming contest on Oct. 19 against Wayne State. The senior day home finale is slated for Nov. 9 against Northern Michigan. * Head Coach Sparky McEwen has led the program to unprecedented heights over the last two seasons and hopes to continue to build the young program in 2024. The Panthers are 16-5 during that span and have started 8-0 in each of those campaigns. The only losses have come against nationally-ranked teams in Grand Valley State and Ferris State. In those five setbacks, the lowest ranking of the opponent was No. 7 coming against Ferris State in the regular season in 2022 and 2023.
* This year's team will have a different feel as the coaching staff hit the transfer portal and brought in 29 players who will certainly impact the program. The quarterback position in particular will feature a new face with the departure of two-time, All-GLIAC selection Jason Whittaker, who holds nearly every passing record at DU. Mike O'Horo (Saginaw Valley State) and D'Wan Mathis (Georgia/Temple) are battling in preseason camp with added depth coming from redshirt freshman Mac VandenHout (Rockford, Mich./Rockford H.S.). The split comes out to be 11 players on offense and 18 players on defense. These players will help bolster the needed depth to compete at the NCAA Division II level week after week.
