Toney's 23 points paces DU in 85-79 win at Purdue Northwest

HAMMOND, Ind. - Ellie Toney flirted the foul trouble but still managed to have an outstanding game in an 85-79 win at Purdue Northwest on Saturday. The junior played 25 minutes but finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Toney reached the 20-point mark for the ninth time in her career and sixth time this season. She also recorded her sixth career double-double and fourth this season.

The key to DU's success in this one was consistent offense in all four quarters. Davenport shot a season-high 57.9 percent overall including a season-high 50 percent (9-of-18) from behind the arc. Jada McCree made a team-high four triples in six tries to finish with 14 points. Lillee Gustafson also finished with a double-double totaling 11 points and 10 rebounds. It was her 26 career double-double and fifth of her senior season.

Isabel Lindo finished with 12 points to reach double digits for the 12th time this season and 24th time in her career. Jaci Walker was the fifth Panther in double figures with 11 points going 4-of-6 from the floor. Neveah Williams had the team's best all-around game with seven points, seven assists, five rebounds, and four steals. Williams set a new career high in assists and tied her career high in steals.

The Panthers will return home next Thursday when they play Saginaw Valley State at 5:30 PM.
