Panthers Defeat Lawrence Tech, Fall to Pair of G-MAC Opponents

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team finished a busy weekend with a 1-2 record, after having a match on all three days of the weekend (Feb. 14-16). 

Match One vs. Lawrence Tech
Result: W, 7-0
How it Happened
The Panthers had a dominating performance on Friday afternoon, not allowing the Blue Devils to win a single set.

In doubles action, Skye Vandeleur and Sienna Opray teamed up at No. 1 doubles, taking down Paola Herrera Rivera and Jacqueline Alcocer 6-2. Amy Bloch and Lotte Federski defeated Angela Anderanin and Miriam McCormick 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3 doubles, Erin Hack and Valentina Moreno secured a 6-3 victory over Claudia Calabuig and Isabella Aray at No. 3 doubles.

Slotted at No. 1 singles, Opray came away with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Herrera Rivera. Bloch played at No. 2 singles, taking down Alcocer 6-0, 6-4, while Vandeleur defeated Calabuig 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Federski notched a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Aray at No. 4 singles. Hack (No. 5) secured a 7-5, 6-3 win against McCormick, while rounding things out at No. 6 singles Moreno defeated Taylor Moore 6-2, 6-0.

How it Happened
After surrendering the doubles point to the Chargers, the Panthers won three of the six singles matchups. 

Opray notched a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Ane Dannhauser while playing at No. 1 singles. At No. 4 singles, Federski picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Courtney Rittel. Securing the third and final victory for DU was Hack, notching a 6-4, 6-1 win against Isabella Spinazze.

Result: L, 4-3
How it Happened
The Panthers went ahead 1-0 over the Cavaliers after securing the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles, Vandeleur and Opray secured a 6-1 win, while Hack and Moreno notched a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, Opray claimed her third singles victory of the weekend with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win slotted at the No. 1 position. Hack also went a perfect 3-0 in singles play over the weekend, capping it off with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 win on Sunday.
