Panthers Conclude Annual Spring Break Trip

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Davenport University women's team finished 2-1 in their final three matches of their annual spring break trip at the USTA National Campus. Overall, the Panthers went 3-2 on the trip and have an overall record of 5-6 in 2024-25.

Match One vs. Alma 
Result: W, 6-1
How it Happened
The Panthers dominated doubles action as all three tandems secured a 6-0 sweep over their opponents. Sienna Opray and Amy Bloch teamed up at No. 1 doubles, while Erin Hack and Valentina Moreno secured the victory at No. 2. Slotted at No. 3 doubles was Charlotte Zhuwakini and Kumiko Yamaguchi, taking down Holly Hall and Annie Ross.

At No. 1 singles, Skye Vandeleur took down Karly Kushner 6-1-6-2. Yamaguchi (No. 3), Hack (No. 5) and Moreno (No. 6) all finished their matches with convincing 6-0 victories. Lotte Federski picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win playing at No. 4 singles.

How it Happened
After surrendering the doubles point, the Panthers entered singles play down 1-0. However, Bloch and Federski did secure a 7-5 win while playing at No. 2 doubles.

Opray won her singles matchup, defeating Sophia Gutkowski 6-0, 6-4 playing at the No. 1 position. Moreno secured a victory at No. 6 singles in a three-set thriller, taking down Davalos Regina 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.

How it Happened
Davenport rounded out their trip with a dominating 7-0 performance. The Panthers took the doubles point, winning all three matchups. Both Vandeleur and Opray (No.1 ) and Bloch and Federski (No. 2) ended with 6-4 wins. At No. 3 doubles, Moreno and Hack defeated Valeria Bradley and Luba Moyo 6-3.

In singles action, Opray (No. 1) and Moreno (No. 6) secured 6-0, 6-2 victories for the Panthers. Bloch took down Ilona Freitag 6-2, 6-2 slotted at No. 2 singles, while Vandeleur finished with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles against Maria Estinvil. Federski dominated playing at the No. 4 position with a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Hack rounded things out with a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
