DU Drops GLIAC Opener to PNW

Box Score GRIFFITH, Ind. - The Davenport University women's tennis team dropped its conference opener 4-3 to Purdue Northwest on Saturday at the Match Point Tennis Club.

After securing the doubles point, DU held a 1-0 advantage in the match to start. Sienna Opray and Skye Vandeleur teammed up at the No. 1 slot, securing a 6-1 victory. Playing at No. 2 doubles, Lotte Federski and Amy Bloch took home 6-3 victory to clinch the doubles point.

In singles action, Bloch dominated at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win. At the No. 1 position Opray picked up a 6-3 6-3 victory. Opray is having an impressive freshman campaign, as she has now won nine consecutive singles matches and 13 overall in the 2023-24 season.
