Women's Tennis 4/26/2025 12:29:00 PM Justice Steiner, Manager of Athletic Communications Panthers Edged 4-3 in Opening Round of GLIAC Tournament Box Score MIDLAND, Mich. - The Davenport University women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Ferris State in the opening round of the GLIAC Tournament on Friday (April 25) to conclude its 2024-25 season. In doubles play, Sienna Opray and Skye Vandeleur teamed up in the No. 1 position and secured a 6-3 win over Kennedy Dumas and Maria Hernandez. However, the Bulldogs won the match ups at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Opray's success continued into singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Ana Hernandez while slotted at the No. 1 position. Vandeleur dominated at No. 3 singles, taking down Dumas 6-0, 6-0. The final Davenport point came off a singles victory by Lotte Federski at No. 5 singles. Federski defeated Aimee Reynoso 7-6, 5-7, 6-2. Kumiko Yamaguchi went three sets with Maria Hernandez at No. 4 singles but fell short 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
