GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The postseason is upon us, and the Davenport women's lacrosse team will enter the GLIAC Tournament as the 4-seed. That means a trip to 1-seed and No. 21 in the nation (D2) Grand Valley State for a semifinal matchup on Friday, May 2, beginning at 4 PM. The Panthers are guaranteed their first winning season since 2022 and enter the contest with a 9-7 overall record. They finished fourth in the GLIAC standings at 3-5 and will look for their first win against Grand Valley State since joining NCAA Division II, which was 8-0 in league play.
The team is riding high after a pair of 20-plus goal efforts in wins over Northwood (Apr. 23) and Saginaw Valley State (Apr. 25) in recent action. The Panthers won 23-5 in the regular season finale at SVSU and saw 12 different players find the back of the net.
Maddy Haynes led the team with four goals on four shots on goal.
Brianna Rodriguez scored three times on five shots on goal and also won five draw controls.

Ali-Ray Hanlon each scored two goals.
Jenna Gillis,
Addison Roe,
Addison Hardin, and
Ele Darmofal each scored once. Darmofal and
Jade Remacle each led the team with two caused turnovers. Remacle also led the team with a season-high eight ground balls.
The Lakers have won both meetings this season by scores of 12-3 on Apr. 3 in Grand Rapids and 17-6 on Apr. 18 in Allendale.
