GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Nick Sabal and 
Nicole Miller have joined the Davenport University athletic department, Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics 
Paul Lowden announced on Monday (June 23). Both Sabal and Miller will be working in facilities, with Sabal being the assistant director of athletics for facilities and operations, while Miller has been named the manager of ticketing and events.
 
 
Sabal comes to DU from Lewis University, where he served as the assistant athletics director for facilities since November 2022.  While with the Flyers, Sabal was responsible for planning, scheduling and maintaining all athletic facilities and athletic event operations. He also oversaw over 20 student workers and coordinated athletic programs for elementary, middle and high school sports teams to host events on campus.
  
"Nick has valuable experience working in DII athletics that will be of benefit as he takes the reins of our athletic facilities," Lowden said." Through the interview process, it is evident Nick is passionate about being a servant leader within college athletics. He values hard work with an emphasis on providing great customer service to all university stakeholders."
Miller spent four and a half years working inside the Grand Valley State athletic department, where she obtained her bachelor of science in sport management and master of business administration.  She spent two years with the Lakers as a game and event operations student supervisor and two years as a facility and event operations graduate assistant. 
 
"Nicole has worked not only in Division II athletics but also within the GLIAC, which will help in role as the manager of ticketing and events," Lowden said. "We are excited to add her energy, experience and enthusiasm to the department."Â
