Tiffin Edges Davenport, 2-0

CALEDONIA, Mich. — Tiffin secured a 2-0 victory over Davenport on Saturday at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. Tiffin capitalized on its chances with goals in both halves, while Davenport was unable to convert any of its six shots on goal. The match was marked by physical play, with Davenport committing 12 fouls and receiving three yellow cards. Tiffin's defense held firm, maintaining a shutout despite Davenport's three shots on target.

The first half began with a defensive tone as both teams committed multiple fouls, including two by Easton Lopez within the first eight minutes. Davenport's Austin Hall tested Tiffin's goalkeeper, Nick Cherry, with a shot in the 32nd minute, but it was saved. The half concluded with Tiffin taking the lead in the 38th minute through a goal by Aalon Wilson-Wright, leaving Davenport trailing 1-0 at halftime.

The second half began with a challenge as Davenport conceded a goal to Tiffin's Yaw Turkson in the 46th minute, assisted by Sebastian Alvarez, putting the home team at a 2-0 disadvantage. Despite the setback, the Panthers' defense, led by goalkeeper Jacob Lee, held firm, including a crucial save against another attempt by Alvarez in the 75th minute. On the offensive front, Lopez and Drew Matyunas both tested Tiffin's keeper, Cherry, with shots in the 67th and 86th minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net, leaving Davenport unable to close the gap before the final whistle.

Lee contributed defensively for the Panthers, making one save during his 30:26 in goal without conceding. Beau Hudd faced six shots but allowed two goals in his 59:34 of play. Hall was active offensively, recording two shots with one on goal. Lopez also added two shots, with one finding its target on goal.
