Panthers secure top-six finish at FSU Bulldog Invitational

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The women's golf team secured their second top-six finish of the fall at the Ferris State Bulldog Invitational, which concluded on Sunday at Katke Golf Course. The team battled for a top-five finish and saw themselves in fourth place after Saturday's first round score of 316. The final round saw movement in the top half of the team standings. Tiffin moved up to third place with a 300. Wayne State moved up two spots with a 307. DU was better by three strokes (313), but did finish four behind the Warriors.

A pair of seniors led the way for Davenport as Lauren Gervais finished in a three-way tie for 17th and Melissa Walker had a solo 20th place finish. Gervais shot rounds of 78-77, while Walker carded a 79-77 effort. Hannah Robinson placed 27th with a score of 159 (78-81). Venetia Chap tied for 33rd place with a score of 160 (81-79).

Teagan Skatzka played as an individual and scored 161 (77-84) to finish 35th. ThaiLee Gerding tied for 56th with a total of 166 (86-80). Jaelyn Feller rounded out the scores for DU with 169 (81-88) and tied for 61st place.

The team will quickly get back on the links at the Grand Valley State Gilda's Club Invitational on Monday, Sept. 29.
