The teams had more top-3 finishes than ever

HOLLAND, Mich. — Davenport University swimming and diving showcased strong performances at the four-day 2026 GLIAC Championships, highlighted by the women's coaching staff of the year honors. The Panthers had more top-3 finishes than ever before for the men and women. The men's team claimed sixth place with 297 points, while the women's team was fifth with 411 points.

Women's Notable Performances

The women's 200 Medley Relay claimed first place with a time of 1:42.10 to set the school record and make the National cut. The quartet consisted of Alicja Pinkowicz, Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz, Asyia Shank, and Nadia Jastrzabek. Jastrzabek secured second place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 23.43, earning 17 points for the team and making the National "B" cut. She also contributed significantly to Davenport's relay teams, including the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay that finished third with a time of 1:35.28. Nadia was also second place in the 100 freestyle (50.44) and hit the National "B" cut. Janaszek-Seydlitz excelled in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, claiming first place with a finals time of 1:02.38 and set the school record to go with a National "B" cut. She also played a pivotal role in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, helping the team to a fourth-place finish with a time of 3:30.42. Zofia took second place in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.97) for the new school record and National "B" cut time.

Shank emerged victorious in the 100 Yard Butterfly, clocking in at 55.70 and made the National "B" cut. Shank also contributed to the 400 Yard Medley Relay's second-place finish with a time of 3:43.77, which was a school record and made the National "B" cut. Pinkowicz was a standout performer in the 200 Yard Butterfly, finishing second with a finals time of 2:05.99 and collecting 17 points. She also helped secure Davenport's second-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay. Pinkowicz was also second in the 100 butterfly (55.71) and hit the national "B" cut. Underwood contributed in endurance events, placing 12th in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 18:00.09, adding 6 points to the team's total. She also participated in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, which placed fifth.

Men's Notable Performances

Parker Schut had a strong performance in the one-meter diving with a second-place finish totaling 456.10. Nikita Sobchuk was able to set the school record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:37.36 and finished seventh in the event. He also set the school record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:30.04. Micah Sholl hit the National "B" cut in the 100 breaststroke and took second place with a time of 53.78. In addition, Sholl hit the National "B" cut in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.69). The men's 800 freestyle relay comprised of Sobchuk, Grant Sandstedt, Agustin Gongora, and Martino Guadagnoli set the school record with a time of 6:42.94 and took sixth place. Maciej Konarski took third place in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.67) with a National "B" cut time. Guadagnoli competed in the 200 butterfly (1:49.89) and made the National "B" cut. Sandstedt also made the National "B" cut in the 100 freestyle (45.08).
