GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - This past weekend, the Davenport women's tennis team resumed conference play, taking on Ferris State and Wayne State. The Panthers hosted both matches at the Grand Rapids Racquet Club.

Match One vs. Ferris State
Result: L, 5-2
How it Happened
The Panthers were swept in doubles play, despite a strong showing by Sienna Opray and Amy Bloch at the No. 1 position, falling 7-6.
In singles action, Davenport picked up a pair of wins as Opray secured a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win at the No. 3 slot. Lotte Federski picked up the other win for DU, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-5 playing at No. 5.

Match Two vs. Wayne State
Result: W, 4-3
How it Happened
DU edged Wayne State, 4-3, in a tightly contested dual match, using strong doubles showing and clutch singles performances to secure the victory.

The Panthers grabbed the early advantage by taking two of three doubles matches. Addison Lind and Maja Sandstrom delivered a key win at No. 2 with a 6-5 decision, while Skye Vandeleur and Alice Maccani controlled their match at No. 3, 6–4, to clinch the doubles point.

In singles play, Davenport battled through several tight contests to reach four total points. Opray earned a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 3 (6–4, 7-6), while  Sandstrom picked up a straight-set win at No. 4, 6–4, 6–3. Lind secured the decisive fourth point with a 6–4, 6–4 win. Wayne State claimed wins at Nos. 1, 2, and 5 singles.
