WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Davenport women's golf placed second overall at the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff hosted by Walsh University, finishing with a three-round team score of 966 (322-323-321) at Saddlebrook Resort. The Panthers showed consistency throughout the tournament and finished 19 strokes behind tournament champion Marian University (Ind.), who is ranked No. 4 in the NAIA. Davenport comfortably secured runner-up honors ahead of Saginaw Valley State (991) and Walsh (999) in the eight-team field.

Individually, ThaiLee Gerding led the Panthers with a three-round total of 241 (+25) to finish fifth overall, highlighted by her final-round 78, which included an eagle on the par-4, 8th hole measuring 340 yards. Lauren Gervais followed closely behind in sixth place with a 243 (+27) after opening the tournament with a 79, in which she birdied the par-5, 7th hole. Melissa Walker also cracked the top ten, tying for seventh at 244 (+28) after carding a team-best, first-round 78 and two rounds of 83.

Rounding out the scoring lineup, Venetia Chap finished tied for ninth with a 246 (+30) and closed strong with a tournament-best 77 in the final round, which including three birdies on her card. Hannah Robinson placed tied for 20th (257), while Taegen Skatzka competed individually and finished 33rd overall (282). The Panthers' balanced lineup, with four golfers finishing inside the top 10, played a key role in Davenport's runner-up finish at the first spring event.
