Davenport Ultimate Claims Conference Title, Sets Sights on Division I Regionals

HOLLAND, Mich.  — The Davenport University men's Ultimate Frisbee team delivered a dominant performance at the Eastern Great Lakes Division III Conferences, securing the championship and building strong momentum as they transition into Division I postseason play. The tournament featured top programs from Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, all competing for a coveted spot at College Regionals. Entering the weekend as the clear favorite, Davenport lived up to expectations with a commanding run through the field.

Strong Start on Saturday

Davenport opened the tournament with three decisive victories:
  • 13–1 over Rose-Hulman
  • 13–3 over Valparaiso
  • 13–7 over Asbury
The Panthers controlled tempo throughout, showcasing disciplined offense and suffocating defensive pressure.

Championship Sunday

Sunday brought more of the same dominance. Davenport defeated Hillsdale College 15–6 in the semifinals before overwhelming Asbury 15–1 in the championship game to secure the conference title.

Eyes on Division I Regionals

Currently ranked #21 in the nation, Davenport now turns its attention to Division I Regionals, where they enter as the #2 seed. With only one bid to Nationals available, the path will be challenging—most notably with #17 Michigan standing as the primary obstacle. In just the third year of the program, Davenport has made the bold decision to compete at the highest level of college Ultimate. The move signals both confidence and ambition as the team continues to elevate its national profile.

What's Next

  • College Regionals: April 25–26
    Quincy Park — Holland, Michigan
  • College Nationals: May 22–25

With a conference title secured and momentum on their side, Davenport now faces its biggest test yet—one tournament standing between them and a trip to Nationals.
