Panthers Take Down SVSU 4-3 on Saturday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University women's tennis team took down Saginaw Valley State 4-3 on Saturday (April 4) at the MVP SportsPlex.

DU secured the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead in the match. The tandem of Addison Lind and Maja Sandstrom secured a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Slotted at the No. 3 spot, Skye Vandeleur and Alice Maccani clinched the point for the Panthers with a 7-6 victory.

In singles play, Sienna Opray defeated Lydia Liong at the No. 3 position, 6-1, 7-5. Sandstrom dominated at the No. 4 slot, winning 6-1, 6-3. Lind clinched the point for Davenport, taking down Natalie Schoenherr 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.

Looking ahead, the Panthers will travel to Michigan's upper peninsula to take on Michigan Tech on Saturday (April 11).
