ALLENDALE, Mich. - The No. 4-seeded Davenport women's lacrosse team fell to No. 1-seeded Grand Valley State University 16–6 on Friday in the opening round of the GLIAC Tournament.

Brianna Rodriguez scored the first goal of the day for DU at 8:46. The Lakers responded with two goals of their own before Jade Remacle added a second goal for the Panthers at 5:46. However, GVSU scored three unanswered to take a 7-2 advantage into the second quarter.

After a GVSU goal to open the second quarter, Davenport responded as Addison Roe found the back of the net at 6:49, narrowing the gap. The quarter concluded with each team adding one goal to their respective tallies, leaving the score at 8–3 in favor of the Lakers.

However, out of the break, GVSU scored seven consecutive goals to gain a 12 point advantage (15-3). Roe stopped the GVSU scoring streak with a goal five minutes into the final quarter. Rodriguez and Remacle scored the final two goals of the day to trim the Laker lead to 10 (16-6).
