CSC – Sienna Opray and
Amy Bloch of the Davenport University women's tennis team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the CSC announced on Tuesday, May 12.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. Eligible nominees must be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's days of competition (regional competition such as ITAs and non-team scored events do not count). The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.
Opray finished her sophomore campaign with an 18-12 overall record in singles, going a perfect 2-0 while slotted at the No. 1 position. She registered a 14-16 record in doubles play, primarily playing No. 2.
Bloch earned Second Team All-Conference (doubles) honors. The senior accumulated a 17-10 overall record in doubles action. While playing at the No.3 slot, she is an impressive 9-1 on the season. She also earned the conference's sportsmanship award.
