Panthers Advance in NCAA Midwest Regional with Victory Over UMSL

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport University women's tennis team won its opening match of the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament on Friday (May 8), taking down Missouri-St. Louis 4-2 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

After surrendering the doubles points, the Panthers won four singles matchups to secure the win.

Erin Hack dominated No. 6 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lauren Sweeney. Addison Lind also won in straight sets, defeating Giuliana Cunza 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot. At No. 2 singles, Sienna Opray secured a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win, while Maja Sandstrom took home a win at the No. 3 slot.

Looking ahead, the Panthers will take on top-seeded Grand Valley State at noon in Allendale.
