CALEDONIA, Mich. — Davenport earned a 5-0 win over Ohio Dominican on Sunday in its first home match of the season. The Panthers scored four times in the first half and finished with a 25-8 advantage in shots, including an 18-3 edge in shots on goal.
Audrey Muterspaugh led the way with two goals, including the game-winner, while Isabella Workman added a goal and two assists for a four-point day. Tatum Borton also found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal. Lexi Calcamuggio made three saves in her first collegiate start and recorded the shutout.
Muterspaugh opened the scoring in the seventh minute, finishing off assists from Workman and Maddison Foster. Workman added a goal in the 13th minute off an assist from Autumn Wakefield before Borton scored less than a minute later to make it 3-0. Muterspaugh struck again in the 27th minute to give Davenport a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Panthers added one more in the second half when Emily Way scored in the 69th minute off Workman's second assist of the afternoon. Davenport kept Ohio Dominican off the scoreboard the rest of the way to secure its second win of the season.
Davenport moves to 2-0-2 on the season and will open conference play Friday, Sept. 11, at Purdue Northwest in Hammond, Indiana, at 2 p.m.
