Biography

2017 (So.): Played in nine games including the final seven games out the season...finished with 52 tackles, ranking fifth on the team...made 29 solo tackles and also had 3.5 tackles for a loss of 15 yards and one sack for a loss of nine yards...returned a fumble 13 yards and had five tackles against Wayne State on Nov. 11...had a season-high eight tackles and a pass breakup against McKendree on Oct. 14.

2016 (Fr.): Played in eight contests and made one start against Saint Francis, Ind. (Nov. 5)...finished with 33 tackles (16 solo) including 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass breakup...had a team-best two sacks at Saint Xavier (Oct. 1)...notched a season-high eight tackles on three occasions.

High School: Prepped at Walled Lake Western High School...played for coach Mike Zdebski...registered 1,055 total yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior...collected 42 tackles and 12 pass breakups as a senior...named All-Area and All-Conference as a junior and senior...named Second Team All-State as a senior.

Personal: Son of Jonathon Simmons...majoring in sports management.
