2014 Post-Season Quick Facts The 2014 version of third-year head coach Kevin Tidey's Davenport ballclub made history by winning both its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championship...Davenport also reached the 40-plus win mark in school history...The Panthers clinched the WHAC regular-season championship with a 24-6 (.800), placing first behind Northwestern Ohio (22-6; .786)...The Panthers completed the WHAC sweep by going undefeated in the conference tournament, defeating Madonna 4-2 and Indiana Tech back-to-back 5-2, 3-2...Three members of the ball club received WHAC individual awards: Kevin Tidey (Coach of the Year); Corey Murphy (Pitcher of the Year) and Bender (Newcomer of the Year)...Seven were also selected to the All-WHAC team: Murphy, Bender, Jordan Anderson, Derek Dennis, Eric Cummings, EJ Grochowalski, Zack Sardellitti...Jordan Zylstra and Ryan Butzer were recognized as an All-WHAC honorable mention...Davenport's pitching staff took six of 10 WHAC Pitcher of the Week honors. Murphy was named to the final two Davenport had an opportunity to while Jerry Ferris, Anthony Alarcon, Anderson and Corey Sessions being named once...Cody Greear set a new school record in hitting streak at 18, breaking Brandon Bongard's record 15 set in 2012...With 565 hits and 387 runs combined, the 2014 Panthers passed the 2012 ballclub's 554 and 386, respectively


NAIA National Championship History for DU (1st Appearance/1-2) – Davenport picked up its first NAIA National Championship tournament win in its debut, a 4-0 win over host The Master's on Corey Murphy's complete-game gem...DU is making its first ever appearance in the NAIA National Championship...Davenport improved to 7-8 all-time in the WHAC Tournament for its postseason appearances...Including the WHAC Tournament, DU is 8-10 all-time in the postseason.
