Will Garetto-Balmer began coaching in 2023 as the Assistant Esports coach at Davenport University. He previously worked in higher education at Northern Michigan University, Cal Poly Pomona, and Western Michigan University. Whilst working at NMU, he also was doing production work for Metashift League working on stream and video content for the organization. Garetto-Balmer is specifically experienced in League of Legends and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. At WMU, he rebranded the League of Legends RSO team into a full Esports program and helped raise $500,000 to build an Esports arena.
Before his time at Western Michigan, Will coached boys tennis and bowling at Marist High School in Chicago. A 2019 graduate of Western Michigan, he earned a bachelor's degree in business management. While attending WMU, he also was a member of the Men's Club Volleyball team.
