Branden Bedes joined the Davenport football coaching staff in July 2024 and will look with the defensive players including linebackers and defensive backs. Bedes cut his teeth in the high school ranks in the state of Michigan at Mason. He has been the defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs since 2018 and has helped mold the program into winners. Mason has won four straight conference championships and three straight district and regional titles in Division 3. He coached on the staff that led the Bulldogs to their first undefeated season in school history in 2019 and first regional championship in 2021. Mason turned in a 13-1 record in 2023 and advanced to the Division 3 state championship game before falling to Forest Hills Central. Bedes was in his second stint with the program after coaching in 2013-14 as the assistant defensive coordinator.
Bedes has also made stops at Williamston (2015-17) and Dansville (2010-12). He has been a part of 29 playoff games as a coach with 18 victories. His teams have finished with a winning record in 12 of his 14 years on the sidelines. Bedes is a graduate of Mason High School (2004) and played football and ran track at Grand Valley State (2004-05). He is currently pursuing a degree at Michigan State in kinesiology.
