Josh Ware joined the DU Football coaching staff in July 2019 and will be the team's Running Back Coach. Ware comes from Ferris State University, where he worked with the team's  running backs from 2016 - 2019 seasons. 

In 2016, he began his college career serving as a student assistant at Ferris State. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a 9-2 regular season, and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Semifinals. The team finished the season with a 12-3 overall record. In 2017, Ferris State finished 8-1 in the regular season, with an overall 11-2 record making it to the NCAA Super Region 3 Regional Championship. In 2018, he helped lead the Bulldogs to an undefeated regular season, GLIAC Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship game. Ferris State posted the most victories in a single season with 15 in 2018.

Ware was a student-athlete at Grand Rapids Community College under Tony Annese, where he played running back for the Raiders from 2009 - 2011. GRCC posted an overall record of 20-3 in his two years, claiming the 2009 NJCAA National Championship. 

Ware graduated with a degree in Sports Management from Grand Valley State University.
