Thomas White is entering his third season with the Davenport University football program working with the wide receivers. White will be coaching while pursuing his master’s degree in business (M.B.A.). White served as a volunteer coach in 2018. The team recorded 141 catches in 2019 and had 13 receiving touchdowns. Ulice Gillard caught a school-record 99-yard touchdown pass from Deondre Ford at Ashland. In addition, 12 different players caught a pass.
White graduated from Ionia High School in 2012. He was a team captain on the football team, earned all-conference awards and currently holds the record for most single-season catches in a season (52) at Ionia. White went on to play wide receiver and special teams at both Ferris State and Olivet College.
White earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Olivet College in 2017 with honors (cum laude). White was a valued member of the 2016 MIAA Championship team who went undefeated in their conference and made a trip to the NCAA DIII playoffs. Prior to his stint at Olivet, White played three seasons at Ferris State University from 2012-2015. During his tenure at Ferris State, he was a part of the 2014 GLIAC Championship team who made an appearance in the NCAA DII playoffs.
