Matt Krzykwa took over for the long-time head coach Chris Green for the 2022-23 season. The Panthers during his first season on the bench finished with a 13-19 record. The team protected home ice the best going 8-5 at Patterson Ice Center.

Krzykwa had served as an assistant coach under Chris Green since September 2018. He grew up in the Grand Rapids area and played hockey at Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School and Aquinas College. Matt has also been involved in youth hockey coaching at Fox Motors since 2015.
