Phil is entering his third season here at Davenport University as coach of the ACHA D3 team. Coach Wendecker is passionate about growing his program into a team that contends at the national level. Phil is no stranger to national championships, as a player he was part of the 2011 ACHA D1 national championship at DU. He also played in four national tournaments in four years. Phil was named First Team All-GLCHL in 2012-13 and 2013-14 and was named GLCHL Player of the Year in 2013-14. Wendecker was also recognized as ACHA D1 First Team All-America in 2012-13 and 2013-14 for the Panthers. After serving as captain for two years and graduating from Davenport, Phil is now employed at Patterson Ice Arena as the Director of Operations.Â
