Davenport University Athletics

Doug Powers returns for his sixth season with the Davenport men's rugby program after a standout playing career. Powers began his rugby career with the Grand Rapids Gazelles in 1992, where he played 13 seasons before retiring in 2004. In 1998, he began co-coaching a brand new Catholic Central High School rugby team and coached the program until 2008. In 2009, he began his college coaching career with a one year stint at Calvin College.

Powers grew up in Fremont, Mich. and has lived in Grand Rapids for the last 20 years.
