Epke VanderBerg was born under German occupation in the Frisian speaking territory of Friesland, Netherlands. His family moved to Michigan in the late 1940’s, a state in which he was predominantly raised and educated. He attended and graduated from numerous colleges and universities in Michigan and holds various degrees in the area of education, divinity, theology, and management.
From the 1970’s into the 1990’s, he and his family have lived in various countries: Canada, Philippines, Jordan, Guam, Saudi Arabia, and India. In these countries he taught, administered, and developed a number of programs related to education and research. Since his return, he has worked in the field of private investigation and in the field of education. He has taught, off and on, at Davenport University since the late 1980’s, teaching courses in Philosophy, Diversity, World Religions, English Composition, and Management.
