Maureen Hale

Maureen Hale joins Davenport as the first men’s assistant volleyball coach for the inaugural season.  Hale comes to Davenport after successful coaching careers at nearby East Grand Rapids High School and Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana.
 
Hale brings a strong volleyball background, having been involved with the sport as a player and/or coach for over 30 years. She is currently a volunteer varsity assistant at EGR and in 2013, helped the Pioneers win their first ever Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) volleyball state title.  In addition, Hale capped off a 11 year assistant coaching career at Penn High School with a 39-1 season resulting in an Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) volleyball championship title in the school’s fifth final four appearance.  Serving as assistant coach for her sister, Lisa Pawlik, Penn’s cumulative record during their joint tenure was 343-67.
 
On top of coaching, Hale played collegiate volleyball for Ball State University, participated for 10 years with the Midwest Professional Volleyball Association (beach volleyball), and continues to play recreationally at the YMCA and The Score.
 
Hale is currently employed as the Client & Community Relations Director for PNC Bank in Western Michigan.  She resides in Grand Rapids.
