Birchmeier is a nearby resident of Walker, Mich. and completed his bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2021 from Grand Valley State University. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and has competed as a USAPL Powerlifting Athlete from April 2017 until the present.
Birchmeier has served as Head Powerlifting Coach at Grandville High School since November 2018. Recently the Bulldogs won the 2021-22 MHSPLA Varsity Girls State Championship. In addition, Birchmeier has coached two MHSPLA State Champions, setting a total of four state records.
He has seen tremendous growth for the program at Grandville High School going from 14 initial athletes to over 80. Birchmeier is also Owner and Strength Coach of Imperium Performance LLC out of Grand Rapids, Mich.
