Alison Bouman will be an assistant coach for the Panthers and was hired on June 28, 2021. Bouman is no stranger to the women's basketball program as she returns to her alma mater. She was a standout for the Panthers from 2011-12 to 2013-14 and during those three years, the team posted a record of 98-10 winning three straight WHAC regular season and tournament championships. The team was also an NAIA national runner-up during the 2012-13 season and made a semifinal appearance the following year in 2013-14. Bouman finished her Davenport career with 674 points, 477 rebounds, and 105 blocked shots. She still ranks fourth in school history in blocked shots and sixth in field goal percentage (.558).

"Coach Bouman is going to be a great addition to our staff here at Davenport University," said interim head coach Travis Schuba. "On top of having a phenomenal career at DU, playing professionally overseas, and spending the last two years as the Head Assistant in a respected program at Gannon, it is her ability to create relationships and her passion for the game that I feel will benefit our girls the most. It is a slam dunk to be able to welcome someone who has won multiple championships in a Davenport uniform and who believes in our vision for the future. Alison is also a tremendous person off the court who I am looking forward to working with for years to come."

Bouman spent the last two seasons at Gannon University, an NCAA Division II program located in Erie, Pa. The Golden Knights had a great deal of success in those two seasons going 13-1 during the shortened 2020-21 season and 25-6 during the 2019-20 campaign. They breezed through the PSAC Tournament including a win in the championship game against No. 7 Indiana (PA). They were set to compete in the Atlantic Regional as the host school before the pandemic canceled the rest of the season.

Bouman completed a professional playing career overseas from 2014-18 and her last stop was with the Hornsby Spiders in Australia. She was a volunteer assistant coach at Minnesota-Duluth in 2018-19 prior to her appointment with Gannon.
