Kara Carlson begins her first season as assistant coach at Davenport. Carlson comes to Davenport following her playing career at Concordia University (Mich.) in Ann Arbor. Carlson has gained coaching experience while playing at the collegiate level, having garnered time as Skills Camp Instructor at both the University of Michigan and Michigan State University camps among others.
Head Coach Robyn Scherr-Wells knows Carlson will bring great potential to her program, "I am excited for Kara's first college coaching experience to be here with us at Davenport. Kara reminds me a bit of myself in that she has known since she was a kid that she wanted to be a coach. Her best basketball days are ahead of her as a coach. Her dad is a very successful high school coach so Kara has grown up around a lot of great coaching influences. She is smart, is a leader and the sky is the limit for her."
