Dan Kimble

Dan Kimble

Dan Kimble joined head coach Justin Vasquez's coaching staff during the 2022-23 season. Kimble has announced meets for the Panthers in the past and his late father, Don Kimble, was a swim coach for Davenport. Dan has played a vital role in the recruitment process, which has led to substantial growth for the programs. The Panthers were able to set six school records at the 2024 GLIAC Championships on the men's side alone and send a pair of swimmers (Owen Stender and Maciej Konarski) to the NCAA Division II Championships. The women's team placed fourth at the 2024 GLIAC Championships and Alicja Pinkowicz burst onto the scene earning GLIAC Female Freshman of the Year honors.

Dan was a swimmer for Holland High School and Grand Valley State as well as a student-athlete representative for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Council (GLIAC SAAC) from 2006-07. He received a bachelor's degree in radio and television broadcasting in 2007. Upon graduating from GVSU, he was an assistant coach at Hope College from 2007-11.

He's been involved in aquatics for over 20 years, most recently as Aquatics Manager at MVP Holland from 2012-16 and then as Safety Manager with MVP Sports Clubs Corporate Services from 2016-24. Dan in June 2024 accepted the role of Manager of Aquatic Operations for Kentwood Public Schools.

Dan also coached for West Ottawa Swim Club, Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics and Holland High School where he was head coach for the Division II Girls' State Championship team in 2014.

Dan and his wife, Lindsey, reside in Holland and have two children, Nora and Liam, along with two dogs, Ramsey and Bolton.
