Megan Lenhart

Megan Lenhart finsihed up her ninth season at the helm of the women's volleyball program. The former, Megan Garner, is a 2004 graduate of Cornerstone University where she played four years for the Golden Eagles as a defensive specialist. While at CU, she earned her degree in Secondary Education while earning defensive MVP honors twice on the volleyball team.

Over this past season (2018) Coach Lenhart led the Panthers to a record of 17-14, and a GLIAC record of 9-7. On September 15 she earned her 200th win against Purdue Northwest in straight sets. In there third game of the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament they beat #19 Lewis University in a thrilling four set match. Once postseason volleyball came around the Panthers got hot. They beat Ashland in the quarterfinals in five sets (Nov. 7), Michigan Tech in the semifinals in five sets (Nov. 9). The Panthers eventually were the GLIAC runner-up after losing to  #6 Ferris State in the final (Nov. 10).

Over her first eight seasons on the DU sideline, Megan worked hard to lead the Panthers to the top of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). Under her leadership the Panthers won the conference title during the 2014 season and also have a pair of second place finishes. The 2014 squad also set a school record with 36 wins and a bid to the NAIA National Tournament - Final Site for the first time in program history.

This past season (2017) was the program's first season in NCAA Division II competition. The team put together a 9-7 record during their first year in the GLIAC and earned the No. 7 seed in the GLIAC Tourament. They finished the regular season winning four out of their last five matches, including three in five sets. The panthers also swept Grand Valley State during the season.

Coach Lenhart has coached some superb student-athletes over the years, some of who earned prestigious awards on the conference and national level. Hannah Stone, who graduated in 2014, was named Second Team All-America by Tachikara-NAIA along with the AVCA...named First Team All-Region and Regional Player of The year in the Mideast Region....garnered WHAC Player of the Year honors, while also being named First Team All-WHAC and an NAIA Scholar Athlete, and placee on the CoSIDA Capital One Academic First Team All-America during her senior season.

Amber Getty, who also graduated in 2014 with Stone, earned WHAC Setter of The year...First Team All-WHAC...Academic All-WHAC...First Team All-Mideast Region and named to the Third Team All-America by Tachikara-NAIA and the AVCA...all during her senior season. Getty was also honored as DU's Senior Female Athlete of The Year in 2013-14.

Marcey DeHaan, as a junior in 2014, was named First Team All-WHAC...All-Mideast Region...Academic All-WHAC...and Honorable Mention Tachikara-NAIA/AVCA-NAIA All-American. Molly Lameyer, in her senior season, earned First Team All-WHAC honors...CoSIDA Academic All-District member...Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete...and All-Mideast Region honors in the AVCA.

Krissy Dill earned these awards over her illustrious four year career...WHAC Newcomer of The Year...First Team All-WHAC...NAIA Scholar Athlete...AVCA All-Region...First Team All-GLIAC...WHAC All-Academic...and she currently holds the program record in total kills with 1,528.

Lenhart's teams have also done an outstanding job in the classroom. They have had the highest team GPA out of all Davenport athletic teams three out of the last four semesters, peaking at 3.71. A total of nine players have earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors under Lenhart.

In 2013, Lenhart went over the 100-win milestone with a victory over Point Park (Pa.). Her overall record now stands at 192-107.

One year after graduating from Cornerstone, Lenhart began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Taylor University under head coach Brittany Smith. Megan was part of a coaching staff for the Trojans that took them from just over a .500 record in her first season to eventual MCC Champions in 2007 as they ended with an overall record of 32-11.

Megan recently stepped away from her club director responsibilities with FaR Out Volleyball Club after 15 years of involvement with the program. 

Megan is married to Chris Lenhart. They have two children - Alexandra (4), Isaac (1) and together they live in Byron Center, Mich.
