Dominique McBride

Dominique McBride is entering his fourth season with the Davenport University women’s basketball program in 2025–26, continuing to serve as the team’s lead assistant coach. McBride has played an integral role in the Panthers’ growth under head coach Shonda Sanders, helping guide the program to a five-win improvement during his first season in 2022–23.

Before joining Davenport, McBride built an extensive coaching background in Charlotte, N.C., where he worked from 2018 to 2022. He served as a head coach with Pro Skills Basketball and as both a junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant at Christ the King High School in Huntersville, N.C. During the 2021–22 season, he helped lead the varsity squad to a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCHSAA 1A state playoffs.

McBride’s success with the JV program earned him the varsity head coaching position in March 2022, following three straight conference championships and a combined 25–2 record over those seasons. His 2020–21 JV team posted the first undefeated season in school history, finishing 10–0. In addition to his coaching duties, McBride also served as a teacher’s assistant at Stoney Creek Elementary in Charlotte beginning in 2018.

A native of Michigan, McBride previously worked as an Athletic Video Coordinator intern at Central Michigan University during the 2015–16 academic year. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Entrepreneurship from Central Michigan in May 2016.
