Ethan Quinn joined the Davenport men's basketball coaching staff in July 2026. He previously served on the staff at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas beginning in August 2022 as the program's video coordinator, before earning a promotion to full-time assistant coach ahead of the 2024-25 season. During his time in Beaumont, the Cardinals compiled 51Â victories, highlighted by a 20-win campaign in 2024-25 and a trip to the Southland Conference Championship game.
The 2024-25 season marked one of the most successful years in recent program history. Lamar set a school record for Southland Conference victories with 14, recorded its first 20-win season since 2018-19, and secured its highest regular-season conference finish (second) since 2008. He also earned his MBA from Lamar in August 2025.
Before joining the Cardinals, Quinn spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. His responsibilities included scouting opponents, coordinating game-day operations, producing player highlight videos, assisting with player development, and analyzing game and practice film. He also served as head coach of Madonna's reserve team, overseeing recruiting, scheduling, travel logistics, practice planning, and all other aspects of the program while pursuing a Master's degree in business administration.
Quinn earned his bachelor's degree in sport management and business law from the University of Minnesota. As a student manager for the Golden Gophers men's basketball team during the 2019-20 season, he assisted with team equipment and supported the coaching staff in daily operations.
While attending Minnesota, Quinn also spent two seasons as a team attendant with the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves. In that role, he supported players, coaches, and staff with equipment needs, traveled with the team, and assisted with game-day and travel operations. He also worked with the Timberwolves' NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas in 2021.
A native of Corunna, Michigan, Quinn was a multi-sport athlete for the Corunna Cavaliers in basketball, football, and track & field. He and his wife, Julianne, are excited to start this new chapter at Davenport University.
