James DeVoe has been the assistant director of the Davenport Pep Band since its second season in 2015. He has also served as the assistant director of the Marching Band since its creation in 2017. Along with his duties at Davenport, he is the band director at Union High School and Westwood Middle School in Grand Rapids. He earned his bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University and his Masters of Music from the University of Michigan. He is an active marching band adjudicator for the Michigan Competing Bands Association and does numerous brass clinics throughout the state.
