Now entering his fourth season at the helm of the Davenport women's soccer program, Joe White has quickly established the Panthers as a competitive program within the GLIAC. After engineering a breakthrough campaign in 2024, White guided Davenport to its second consecutive GLIAC Tournament appearance in 2025. The Panthers earned the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament and battled Saginaw Valley State into double overtime before falling 1-0 in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinals.
White orchestrated one of the program's best seasons since joining NCAA Division II in 2024. The Panthers posted an 8-4-8 overall record and finished 5-2-7 in GLIAC play to earn a fifth-place finish. The eight victories were the most in a season for Davenport since joining the GLIAC in 2017. White also led the Panthers to their first-ever GLIAC Tournament victory and first win over Ferris State in program history with a 1-0 quarterfinal triumph. Arianna Diemer and Haley Diekevers both earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors.
White guided the Panthers on a historic run to open the 2023 season, posting four consecutive shutout victories, including a 1-0 conference win over Saginaw Valley State on Sept. 15 following a last-minute goal. Davenport finished 5-7-6 overall, marking the program's third-most victories since joining the GLIAC in 2017. Haley Diekevers earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors, while Gabby Scholten was named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC.
PRIOR COLLEGE COACHING EXPERIENCE
White previously served as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs at Aquinas College. The women's team enjoyed a tremendous 2022 season, finishing 21-3-1 overall and 11-0 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). The Saints defeated three nationally ranked opponents and advanced to the NAIA National Quarterfinals before falling 1-0 to top-ranked Keiser. The men's team also found success in 2022, posting a 10-7-3 record and a 6-4-1 mark in WHAC play before reaching the conference tournament semifinals.
White also spent three seasons (2019-21) as the lead assistant coach for the men's soccer program at Auburn University at Montgomery (NCAA Division II). The Warhawks finished 11-5-4 in 2021, including a 7-2-2 record in Gulf South Conference play, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, earning victories over Tampa (1-0) and Young Harris (0-0, 5-4 PK). White was named AUM Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019-20 and helped the 2019 coaching staff earn Gulf South Conference Co-Coaching Staff of the Year honors after a 9-6-3 season.
Prior to Auburn Montgomery, White served as a volunteer coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs at Saginaw Valley State during the 2018-19 season. Working primarily with the goalkeepers, he helped the Cardinals' men's team post an 11-3-6 record, capture the GLIAC regular-season championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament. The women's team also reached the NCAA Tournament after finishing 12-4-4.
CLUB SOCCER COACHING EXPERIENCE
White is currently employed by Midwest United Football Club in Grand Rapids and serves as the head coach of the club's USL Pre-Professional Women's Team. In addition, he coaches the U14 and U13 ECNL teams. White was also recognized by United Soccer Coaches as a member of its prestigious 30 Under 30 program, which recognizes the nation's top 30 coaches under the age of 30.
PERSONAL
White earned his bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from Hastings College (Neb.) in 2018 before completing his master's degree in business administration at Auburn University at Montgomery in 2021.
A standout student-athlete at Hastings, White helped lead the Broncos to a combined 43-3-2 record over two seasons. He was a member of the 2016 NAIA National Championship team and earned NAIA All-America honors in both 2016 and 2017.
