DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY PANTHERS

Jzavion McGowan

Jzavion McGowan joined the Davenport coaching staff in March 2026 and will work with the wide receivers. McGowan's most recent stop was Siena Heights University, where the university announced it would cease operations at the end of the 2025-26 academic year.

During his time with the Saints, McGowan had helped produce four All-MSFA performers. Over two seasons working with the wide receivers, the group has gained more yards and touchdowns than the previous four seasons combined. McGowan had a Top 10 WR Group nationally in ‘23 and a Top 2 WR Group in the conference in ‘24. McGowan has also signed 19 recruits in his time with Siena Heights.

In his second season with the WRs in 2024, McGowan helped the group record 122 receptions totaling 1,815 yards and 18 touchdowns while amassing 2,695 total all purpose yards. The group was able to set a school record for receptions in a single game (21). McGowan helped produce All-MSFA performer, Tendaji Alexander.

In his first season, McGowan’s wide receiving group complied 108 receptions totaling 1,845 yards and 17 touchdowns while also amassing 2,795 total all purpose yards. The group also set the school record for total receiving touchdowns in a single game (5). These marks all showed improvement from the previous year’s campaign. His WR group ended the 2023 season ranked top 10 nationally while producing two All-MSFA performers (Eric Williams & Credell Prather).

McGowan attended Saginaw Valley State and was a member of the football team for a year before going to the University of Toledo. He earned his bachelor's degree in nursing in 2020.
