Shane Haggerty begins his first season as lead assistant coach under Jeremy Bultema. Haggerty graduated from Grand Valley State with a degree in sport management in 2024. Haggerty played club hockey at GVSU while earning his degree. He played in 103 career games for the Lakers and finished with 63 goals and 101 assists. After leaving GVSU, Shane played for one season with the Baton Rouge Zydeco.

Haggerty was also able to coach hockey at nearby Hudsonville High School at the varsity level.
