Todd Pitts

Dr. Pitts has taught at Davenport University for 20 years in the areas of human resources, leadership, marketing, and sports management. Dr. Pitts serves as the DU faculty athletic representative to the NCAA. In his effort to support experiential learning opportunities at DU, Dr. Pitts has served as co-advisor to the London-Paris-Barcelona study abroad program. Dr. Pitts also serves as an Association Membership and Marketing Committee Member on the Michigan Statewide Sport Management Conference Association (MSSMA). In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Pitts is highly involved with compliance and athletic administration at Davenport University.
 
Prior to teaching, Dr. Pitts spent 13 years in the hospitality business where he served in various managerial positions including food and beverage director, director of sales and marketing, and general manager. Dr. Pitts worked for Marriott, Holiday Inn, and General Mills corporations, as was instrumental in the initiation of operations with all of these corporations. Dr. Pitts received his bachelor degree in Hospitality Management from Purdue University and his Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management form Davenport University, and his Ed.D. in Sports Leadership at the United States Sports Academy.
