Dominez Burnett is the Male Athlete of the Week after he led the Davenport men’s basketball to three-conference road wins this week. In the three wins, Burnett combined for 72 points and surpassed 1,500 career points in the win over Marygrove.

To start the week, Burnett scored 23 points and grabbed ten rebounds for his second double-double of the season. The junior from Flint, Mich., then tallied his another double-double on Wednesday night in the 48-42 win over Lawrence Tech, as he scored 18 and came down with 11 boards.

In final game of the week in a crucial WHAC matchup on the road against Concordia, where the winner of the game would be atop the WHAC standings, Burnett tied his career high 31 points and had six assists in the game to put the Panthers ahead of the Cardinals by a half game in the WHAC.

Burnett and the men’s basketball team will return home on Wednesday to face Lourdes, before they hit the road again to play Michigan-Dearborn.
